Warner Bros. Pictures has unveiled another brief trailer for celebrated “There Will Be Blood” and “Boogie Nights” filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson’s new black comedy action feature “One Battle After Another”.
Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Wood Harris, Shayna McHayle and Alana Haim star in the project which will be Anderson’s most expensive film to date – budgeted at over $130 million.
The project is a modern adaptation of Thomas Pynchon’s “Vineland” which unfolded in Northern California 1984 and dealt with the consequences of the 60s hippie movement in the era of Reaganomics.
Here, a group of ex-revolutionaries reunites to rescue one of their own’s daughter when an evil enemy of theirs resurfaces after sixteen years. DiCaprio plays the washed up ex-revolutionary whose daughter has been taken.
The new trailer includes references to “Star Wars” and “World War 3,” along with shots of an infant child important to the story.
Michael Bauman is lensing the film in 35mm VistaVision, while Radiohead’s Johnny Greenwood is doing the score. “One Battle After Another” will open on September 26th.
