TVB is partnering with Chinese platform Youku to launch The Queen of Castle <巨塔之后>. The drama premiered on Youku on August 27, while the broadcast time on television has yet to be announced. Filmed in Foshan and Europe, the series features thrilling large-scale scenes, including a plane crash, a giant crane collapse, and doctors rushing to save lives.
The drama was originally set to star Maggie Cheung (張可頤) as the female lead. Maggie previously shared that she read the script, conducted research, and even consulted her doctor friends to better understand her role as a cardiologist.
However, during the TVB Programme Presentation 2025 in May, the female lead was announced to have been switched to Jessica Hsuan (宣萱). The drama also stars Ruco Chan (陳展鵬), Alice Chan (陳煒), Moon Lau (劉佩玥), Jinny Ng (吳若希), Joel Chan (張頴康), and Kaman Kong (蔣家旻).
Producer Joe Chan (鍾澍佳) clarified the sudden cast change, explaining delays in scriptwriting caused the filming schedule to be pushed back, which created scheduling conflicts for Maggie. Although fans were disappointed about not being able to see Maggie return to the small screen, Jessica was a phenomenal substitute for the medical professional role.
