The search continues for a missing Illinois man who vanished last week.
Kevin Spencer, 34, was last seen leaving NBC Tower in Chicago on January 24. Spencer, who works for WMAQ’s IT department, has not returned to the office, which his co-workers and family said is unlike him.
“Kevin’s the type of person who’s very diligent, very good with attention to detail. And if he’s ever late by a couple of minutes to come into work, he’ll call his manager and say, ‘Hey, I’m running two or three minutes behind.’ And so one, he didn’t do that. And then two, he was not here. And I think good on his managers to say that, ‘Something’s not right. This is out of character for Kevin,” said Kevin Cross, president and GM for NBCU Local Chicago.
A family member said they missed a call from Spencer on Saturday, according to WLS. Meanwhile, his sister told WMAQ she last spoke to him on Monday. Despite this, Friday was the last day he came to work.
Spencer was described as being 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, and having blue eyes and brown hair.
It is unclear whether authorities believe foul play is involved. Anyone with information regarding Spencer’s whereabouts is asked to call Chicago police’s Special Victims Unit at 312-744-8266.
