A Texas mother had been charged with four counts of injury to a child after she beat her children with a dog leash because none of them would admit who left a tissue on the floor.
Ebony Gonzalez, in her early 30s (local media gave three different ages), also reportedly turned on the stove and threatened to burn the children’s hair, KPRC reported.
Two of the children are 11 years old, one is 8, and the other is 6. The station said that one of the children passed a note to a friend asking that police be called. The reportedly detailed the abuse.
Officers who responded to the Katy home said that two of the children hadred welts and bruising on their upper backs. A third child said her mother pulled her hair and kicked her, and the fourth child declined to talk but mentioned having visible marks, the judge said reading the charges against Gonzalez.
Child Protective Services said the children are with Gonzalez’s mother.
According to KRIV, Gonzalez was given a $10,000 bond for each charged and is barred from unsupervised contact with her children.
