Swinton, Lowery Team For “Death” Tale

The one and only Tilda Swinton is reportedly set to star in a new film from “The Green Knight” and “A Ghost Story” director David Lowery set up at See-Saw Films (“The Power of the Dog,” “Slow Horses,” “Heartstopper”)

Titled “Death in Her Hands,” the film is called an “otherworldly psychological thriller” and “anarchic whodunnit” which Lowery is adapting from the cult novel by Ottessa Moshfegh.

Swinton plays Vesta Gul, a recently widowed woman who, while walking in the woods near her new home, comes across a chilling handwritten note.

Scrawled on paper is the words: “Her name was Magda. Nobody will ever know who killed her. It wasn’t me. Here is her dead body.” But there is no body or signs of death where the note was found.

Still reeling from the death of her husband, and armed only with a camera and her dog Charlie, she becomes obsessed with learning the truth about Magda and, in doing so, allowing herself to finally live again.

Iain Canning, Emile Sherman and Jeanie Igoe will produce. Lowery is currently in post-production on the Anne Hathaway-led “Mother Mary”.
