Activist Raises Alarm as UBA Promises Action Over Missing ₦150M in Returnee’s Account

Nigerian activist Harrison Gwamnishu has shared a major update in the shocking case of a Nigerian returnee whose ₦150 million mysteriously vanished from his UBA account.
The story, which went viral through a disturbing video, features the victim, a man who recently returned to Nigeria, alleging that UBA claimed he was dead and disbursed his funds based on a fraudulent death certificate and probate order.
According to Gwamnishu, the man is very much alive and has been bounced from branch to branch with no resolution. UBA has now reportedly responded, assuring they are “on the matter.”
In an Instagram post, Gwamnishu revealed that the court documents used to access the victim’s funds were fake, and the names listed as recipients are strangers to him.
“UBA bank reached out and assured us they are working on it,” Gwamnishu wrote. “Before awarding over ₦100 million to unknown persons, a fraudulent death certificate and court order were used. The victim doesn’t even know the recipients. We demand accountability!”
He’s now calling on the public to tag @centralbankng and @ubagroup to demand a full investigation and justice for the victim.
