Investigators have identified a suspect in the stabbing death this week of a CalFire fire captain at her home in Ramona.
The San Diego Sheriff’s Office said that 53-year-old Yolanda Marodi, also known as Yolanda Olejniczak, is wanted for the murder of Rebecca Marodi, 49, on Tuesday.
Olejniczak is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall and 166 pounds with brown hair. Her current location is unknown.
According to KESQ, the suspect and the victim had been married for about two years, and detectives are looking into a potential domestic violence motive.
Court records show that Olenjniczak was convicted of voluntary manslaughter in 2003 and sentenced to 11 years in prison.
It’s not clear who called 911 after the attack. CrimeOnline previously reported that Marodi lived at the home in Ramona with her mother.
