Jessica Biel is shaking up the California spring uniform with an unexpected leather look.
On May 22, the 42-year-old actor debuted her new premium wine label Prophet & Poet at the Upper Barn Vineyard in Sonoma County, though her outfit was giving more Manhattan than wine country. To celebrate her latest business venture, Jessica wore an embellished bomber jacket with a white t-shirt and black leather barrel pants, elevating the controversial silhouette we’ve seen dominating denim trends for months.
Biel made a strong case for the tapered horseshoe design by opting for a very rock-and-roll pair of leather pants with silver zippers and hardware. The Better Sister star kept the rest of the look just as cool with a single chain necklace and an assortment of rings, adding pair of white Chanel loafers to match the season.

Though Jessica Biel lives in Montana with husband Justin Timberlake and their two children, she traveled back to California to celebrate a venture that’s been percolating since her brother’s beach wedding in 2019.
According to a press release, Biel worked with childhood friend Jesse Katz to gift Justin and Rose Biel a one-of-a-kind barrel of custom wine. While the barrel was initially meant to be shared between Biels, the “symbol of love and connection” ended up inspiring a collaboration with Jackson Family Wines proprietors Chris and Ariel Jackson.
“Prophet & Poet began as a personal gift, a symbol of love and connection within our family,” Biel said in a press release. “Watching it evolve from that special moment into something we can now share with the world is incredibly meaningful, and I’m excited for others to experience the story and spirit of these wines.” You can learn more here.
Listen, I’m not saying Jessica Biel’s leather barrel jeans were a sartorial nod to that original barrel of wine, but I’m also not not saying that. Either way, they’re making me rethink my regularly scheduled switch to wrinkly linen pants.
