The French Film Panorama 2025 officially opened in Guangzhou on June 6, kicking off more than two weeks of cinematic celebration in South China.
Running from June 6 to 22 across Guangzhou and Shenzhen, this year’s French Film Panorama will showcase 10 French films spanning comedy, tragedy, action, suspense, science fiction, and animation.
The goal is to reflect the diversity of contemporary French cinema while catering to a broad range of audience interests.
Serving as this year’s promotional ambassador is acclaimed French actress Isabelle Huppert, while Chinese actress Zhao Tao has been named the image ambassador—a duo symbolizing the event’s mission to foster deeper cinematic ties between China and France.
Several of the featured films have appeared in major international film festivals such as Cannes, Venice, and Annecy, and many have also earned accolades, including the prestigious César Awards.
The French Film Panorama is organized by Unifrance and supported by the French Embassy in China.
Since its inception in 2004 as part of the annual Festival Croisements, it has become a cornerstone of Franco-Chinese cultural exchange, bringing French cinema to audiences across the country.

Over the past 21 years, the Panorama has welcomed iconic French film personalities such as Sophie Marceau, Jean Reno, Juliette Binoche, Léa Seydoux, and legendary director Claude Lelouch, along with major industry figures like Pathé CEO Jérôme Seydoux.
Audiences in Guangzhou and Shenzhen can look forward to this year’s carefully curated lineup, offering a rare opportunity to engage with French storytelling on the big screen.
