Mosaic Mask Studio and indie.io are launching the full version of Shields of Loyalty on Steam on August 12, 2025. After a successful Early Access period and a wave of community-driven improvements, this hex-grid turn-based strategy title will arrive in version 1.0, bringing deep tactical combat, faction variety, and classic wargame inspiration to a modern audience. Set in the dark fantasy world of Mantaria, players lead armies through a war-torn land haunted by the undead. Every battle unfolds on hand-crafted hex maps where terrain, formations, and unit synergy matter. Players will command over 160 units across diverse factions, each with their own abilities, playstyles, and unique battlefield roles.
The disciplined Empire, savage Warlords, and mystical High Priests offer distinct tactical identities. From flying scouts and elemental archers to morale-breaking berserkers and passive support units, each squad must be carefully placed and timed to gain the upper hand. The game rewards strategic experimentation, with each unit and faction offering new ways to outwit the enemy.
At launch, the 1.0 version introduces new content, including a full faction of desert-based spellcasters from the island of Nâr. Led by the arcane commander Sargon I, these magic-wielders bring powerful summons like the Djinn and Naga, alongside a new biome called Lava Desert filled with environmental hazards and tactical opportunities.
Built by a small German team and praised by Early Access players with a “Very Positive” rating, Shields of Loyalty blends retro charm with modern strategy.
