“South Park” is sticking to premiering new episodes every other Wednesday for its ongoing, Trump-skewering season. The fourth and fifth episodes of Season 27 will air on Comedy Central on Sept. 3 and Sept. 17, respectively, continuing the bi-weekly release pattern that has been established.
The planning marks a change of pace from previous “South Park” seasons. Season 25 and Season 26, which were only composed of six installments each, both debuted new episodes on a weekly basis. While Comedy Central and the “South Park” production team could switch up the pattern after September, sticking to it would put the 10-episode Season 27 on pace to air its finale on Dec. 10.
The release scheduling is especially notable since “South Park” has an especially fast-paced production timeline. Unlike most animated series, which can take months or even over a year to finish episodes, “South Park” has a reputation for scripting, animating and editing quickly as to stay up-to-date and topical in its satire. With Season 27 releasing every other week, that provides more production time between episodes than has typically been afforded to previous “South Park” seasons.

In the most recent episode of “South Park,” which aired Aug. 20, the series once again targeted President Trump, re-upping its depiction of the commander-in-chief as a whining Satan lover with a micro-penis. The story also depicted Apple CEO Tim Cook and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, showing the tech billionaires bribing Trump with gifts.
The White House released a statement after the “South Park” Season 27 premiere aired, saying that “Just like the creators of ‘South Park,’ the Left has no authentic or original content, which is why their popularity continues to hit record lows.”
“South Park” Season 27 has drawn the highest ratings for the series since 2018.
